This month I completed my annual assessment marking and then finished my 10+ years working at Bournemouth University. I won’t reflect on it here because it would require something more substantial than a blog post to unpack and celebrate the ups and downs of the last decade. Suffice to say, I am glad I went back to where I had completed my undergraduate degree. It was a great pleasure. I remember handing in my notice at the end of the 72 Film Project and leaving Staffordshire University. I honestly hoped I would have made more movies since then. Granted, there was a PhD, a pandemic, lots of music and some deaths in that time, but it still feels like a missed opportunity. I am keen to build on the recent filmmaking and get something else made soon. I’m spending some time with my family over the next couple of months and will then have some news as to what I am up to next.
With all the change going on, it has been difficult keeping up with habits. I’d like to improve on some of them over the coming months. I think that developing this incremental approach to habits has been my biggest life achievement over the last few years and I am keen to keep it.
