Summer is sometimes frantic and this month was particularly so. I started at new job as Course Leader for the MA Film program at London College of Communication in the University of the Arts London. I’m excited to be working with postgrads again and delighted to be back closer to my specialism after a few years of drifting away from a Film programme.
I managed to catch up with lots of friends this month around the new job. Some visited the Bournemouth area because of our lovely beaches, others I managed to catch up with during a brief visit one weekend to Dublin. So, Lulah with family, Ana with family, Gareth with family, Conor with family, and I managed to see my own family too. Good to see so many friends from so many different stages of life!
I had some other quirks this month. Managed to shoot half a short film (really struggled actually, but that will be another blog post.) I reached two years of consistent Duolingo. I reached my reading goal of 50 books sooner than ever before. I managed to submit a draft of an academic paper to a journal. All in all, busy time. I also took the first step on the Linkedin exit strategy. I am now hibernating the profile. It is the last bastion of social media that I have left. Life without it has been great the last few weeks.
