HISTORY:
It seems a bit naff to include my graduate film here, but I figure it is in the spirit of transparency. I made Heaven Sent in 2002 as my final project of my degree. I was heavily inspired by the Dogme 95 movement and spend most of my time dropping DVCPro footage through three generations of VHS recording to get the dirty image that I was after. I’m weirdly proud of this film despite it being officially average in academic terms and having terrible representation issues. I could write for ages about the process but the reality is that it should be looked at through in the context of what it is, a student film. It sent me on a journey that includes Peppermint and my MA thesis, so I’m happy for that.
