Marks, travel, happy endings

June started with a screening of the final year students’ work from the BA Film degree. This is our first graduating cohort, so it was quite emotional. It is also my last year of leading the programme, so that made it even more so. The end of five years of planning and seeing the whole thing come together.

The Class of 2019

Immediately afterwards I began three weeks of travelling across the UK and Ireland to do external examining work for other universities, all while marking my own students’ projects. It was a tough three weeks. The month ending with our own prep exam board, ready for the real thing in early July. Then holiday for me!

The craziness meant that the predictable lack of reading and movie watching became manifest. However, I passed my ambition of over 100 movies this year, and I am on course to read 50 books, so I can’t complain.
