Bee and I decided to spend most of January in Marrakech after such a terrible end to 2023. It was a good decision. I can’t say that we’re relaxed and raring to go at 2024. But we feel as if we took some time to recover.
I’ve been working away on some music, which I’m quite happy with and plan to release in the coming months. Music has certainly been my preferred creative outlet in the last few years. Filmmaking was hard with the pandemic and I’ve had a few setbacks on some projects which haven’t knocked my confidence, but have knocked my enthusiasm for filmmaking. I want to fall in love with it again, and am building up to something, but I feel like someone in the early stages of dating! I don’t want to put a ‘label’ on it or have expectations. So I’ll simply see where it goes.
I’ve been managing to write stuff recently, chipping away at it little and often. Similar to filmmaking, I don’t want to place any expectation on it but it’s been pleasant to have it as an outlet, especially during this weird period of my life.
