I can’t stand mastering music. It’s always been this way. I felt the mixing went quite quickly in Marrakech but the mastering then took a while, and I’m still not convinced I got it right. I know – there are A.I. plugins that can do it all now. They’re also really expensive, and even the free version that I demo’ed on the last project didn’t leave me completely satisfied. One or two of the tracks on An Unreachable Peak still annoy me for this reason. So this project has gone a similar way. I think it is in the best condition that it can be for the time I am prepared to spend on it. It’s been many hours in Adobe Audition and I can honestly say that it is no longer fun!
I’ve been uploading the album to distributor platforms and aim to release The Hobbyist on Thursday 29th February.
