I managed to finish recording all the different parts to The Hobbyist at the start of the year and then took the songs to Marrakech and made rough mixes of the tracks. I’m happy with the outcome. I think I have also sorted the track order. There’ll be 18 songs on the album (around 40 minutes in total) and 5 more songs made available as an extra download for those who buy it on Bandcamp.
It is surprising at how quickly much of it came together. I have listened to it with fresh ears today and some need small tweaks, but it is nowhere near as big a job as An Unreachable Peak was. The next step is to master it in Adobe Audition and then prep copies for the different online platforms. The aim is still to go for Friday 1st March as a release date, although I need to sort some videos and some inner sleeve material for those who purchase a download.
Overall, it’s positive and I am happy with it, which is quite rare for me at this stage of a project!
