Summer’s here

A sunny month. Long overdue, but then my enthusiasm to be outside has meant that I end the month burnt. It feels almost criminal to not be outside when the weather is like this, because the winter has been so grey and dull. How British, constantly commenting on the weather.

I think I finally have an album to share. This month has been about endless amounts of mixing and mastering. God, I hate that process. However, I think I have arrived at something that I can be proud of, even if I can’t say I’m happy with it. All of these projects end up in some kind of abandonment rather than completion, and I reached a point where I could no longer tolerate the endless tweaking and fiddling. It is as near as damn it. So, the plan is to release An Unreachable Peak on August 4th, which gives me some time to edit a video for the release date.

Obligatory Durdle Door shot when there are no other memorable images to encapsulate the previous month.

I plan to record the next project on the Tascam 4 track that I used to use for demos at the start of my musical journey. Not out a love of analogue or retro vibes, but for speed and limitation. I miss the immediacy of ideas to production ratio, and the playfulness, which sometimes goes missing with the abundance of digital enhancements available on DAWs.
