Little by little

June was an unusual month. In some ways it was a wind down after the crazy May of marking and Ireland. But in other ways it was busy because of exam boards, small projects and family visits. I had my run on Father’s Day, and later visited my family home to sort through my Dad’s train collection. We also interred his ashes in the same forest that we had his funeral service in. It felt better to inter them in the summer rather than the cold wet days of winter.

Creatively I have been working on a couple of projects. I won’t go into them here because they are both a bit nascent and I don’t want to commit to anything and jinx it! Suffice to say, I am creatively fulfilled at the moment, with has not always been the case over the last few years. I am also happy to be free of Spotify. I recently left the distributor and re-uploaded all my music directly onto Youtube. It will be exclusively there and Bandcamp for the foreseeable future.

The weather still bugs Bee and me. We’ve had some nice days but it is still unpredictable and is having a negative effect on her health, which is not ideal. So, we have to make some decisions about that in the coming months, seeing as we have passed the solstice.

In other news, which is probably pedestrian and trivial to the casual reader, our neighbours moved out at the end of the month and we are gutted. They were lovely friends and we don’t have many lovely friends in the world. They have left us some of their plants and gardening bits which will be a lovely memento.

June saw the return of the Rug Doctor.
