The year is almost at an end. I’ve almost completed my teaching for the year. A new album is recorded, mixed and ready for mastering. I think I finished filming the last sequence for a documentary that I have been making, although I may still need some interviews to help fill gaps in the story. I’ve been silent about this film because of so many false starts on projects over the last ten years, but I think I can say that something will be done with this in the New Year. I completed a trailer:
There was quite a bit of filmmaking this month as my friend Will Whiting relaunched the Shooting From The Hip 48 Hour Film challenge. I didn’t take part as a maker, but enjoyed it as an audience member. So happy to see that back in the calendar. There was also Graduation, which was my first time back there in five years. It was a pleasure to see the students crossing the stage. Elsewhere, I have been watching movies with gusto to make sure I hit my target of 150. I’m at 141, so I think it is doable. This quantified-self bullshit is tiresome, but I’m happier with it than without, so it stays. Oh, and we had 20 minutes of snow. It settled momentarily, so it still counts.
