The month started with a change in Prime Minister, then the Queen died. Then she travelled the country in her coffin and people queued lots to walk past. Then she was buried. Meanwhile, protests in Iran over a woman’s death for a misplaced hijab and the Ukrainian War continues, with Putin making nuclear threats. Energy prices keep going up so the new Prime Minister announces a scheme to support people with the bills. Her chancellor simultaneously announces tax cuts to help rich people keep more of their money, in the hope that it will create growth in the economy, but it spooks the market and the currency falls. So, strange times.
Meanwhile, university starts again, and I am working on a new Photography course, so there’s lots of change. My workload is still imbalanced, and I struggle to get other things done while the teaching load is so high, which is annoying because I have some music that I really want to finish.
I also have quite a lot of other bits of work in coming months, which will make the busy even busier. And then there’s a World Cup in November, which will make the strange stranger.
