Bee and I had a chance to get away because of all the bank holidays as a result of the coronation. We haven’t travelled abroad together since the pandemic, and it was a chance to celebrate (almost) ten years of married life together. We actually married in September 2013, but it’s a crappy time of year to get away when a new term starts. Here’s some picks of flowers we saw whilst there:
We chose Corfu as neither of us had been to Greece before. The hotel was in the north of the island, facing Albania, and was surrounded by mountains and woodland. It was very secluded, which was lovely. The weather wasn’t too amazing, with lots of over cast days, but we still got a chance to explore and see some of the island in comfort without blistering heat. Here’s some pictures of the coast:
I wandered along the coastal path to see some of the bays and would some day like to explore more of the island on foot. In general, we enjoyed the island and had a good stay. I think both of us would be happy to go back, but there is also a desire to see different places after the cabin fever of the pandemic. Bee felt that Corfu reminded her of the north of Iran, which I would love to see at some point too. Here are some more pics of our time on the island:
