Steady start

The start to the year has been good. Habits haven’t gone awry, even though living in Agadir did break the rhythm of some of them. Things are settling a bit more now we are back home. The marking season has started and I start teaching a new unit next week, so it is about to get busy.

I released new music yesterday. It is 20 years since I put my piranha into the world, and this feels like a quiet milestone. I say quiet, because I’m not planning any fanfare for it, and things don’t look too optimistic based on the early play stats. However, it’s now why I’m into it, so I’m not losing sleep over it. I’d rather spend the time making more music than marketing my stuff. The ‘artist’ that is uncomfortable selling their stuff is a hideous trope. I’m not adverse to sharing/selling it, I can’t be arsed promoting it. I’m lazy and skint, not above it or uncomfortable.

In other uninteresting news, I recently switched platforms for monitoring and tracking habits. I had been on Toodoodle, which was okay. But I wasn’t prepared to pay for it and there were a couple of days where it went offline. I know, ironic right? If I paid I bet they’d have better servers etc. However, I actually switched to a customisable Excel sheet that is online, and another one for my budgeting, so it was simpler to be in one space. I’m loving it. This is VERY geeky and sad, but I honestly find this regular monitoring of stuff is the only way I actually hold my self accountable for things, rather than talking shit but doing nothing.
