One month since the last post about this project and there has been some momentum. I have managed to get bass parts and most guitar parts recorded. I’m trying to work out a plan for what to tackle next to prevent getting stuck in a rut. My worst fear is to take a break from the project for a while and then return to it in a different headspace and an unsympathetic creative perspective. I had that with The Unreachable Peak, and it was very frustrating.
Currently there are 22 songs on the go. I imagine it will get cut down for the final thing, although the nature of the album is meant to be the variety. The songs are all fairly short. As the image above suggests, there is already some potential artwork. Again, this was one of the last considerations on An Unreachable Peak. While I am really happy with the end result of the artwork on that project, I don’t want the stress of leaving it last minute again. I’m not sharing it here yet though, as I am not sure about it.
Lyrics are all close enough to complete, except Painter, which still needs some. There are various tweaks on other tracks depending on how the vocal recording goes. Not sure what the next month will bring as I’m losing the spare room at home as my mother-in-law visits, so progress may be slow!
