Oh time!

February is always crazy. Berlinale, Stoke Your Fires, Symposium at work, awards season. The film world goes crazy. Tonight I’m really pleased to be launching a company at the closing night of Stoke Your Fires festival. I’ve been running Grand Independent with my friend Larry Smith since 2006, but last year Staffordshire University became a shareholder along with my colleague Peter Rudge and an investment came in to produce and distribute films. Tonight we outline our plans for the future.

On Tuesday I presented my first draft of Crushing Snails to my students. It was a bit of a headwreck for them, as it is a genre-less mind bender. Ho hum. I’m so excited at finishing the edit. I’ve booked my time in the edit suite for late May. All music and writing must be done by then. I hope to put the whole thing out this summer with an exhibition and a couple of live events. I’ll keep you posted 🙂
