This is a picture of my new desk space in Birmingham Film Studios. I’m sharing the office with Brendan O’Neill from Stickleback Productions. The desk may not look exciting but you just wait until I’ve filled it with all my goodies. Here is a video from my desk in Melbourne.

In other news, Birmingham is buzzing with news that Peaky Blinders starts on BBC2 tonight with Cillian Murphy leading the cast with Sam Neill. I visited a recent Q&A with the writer Stephen Knight chaired by Roger Shannon. Roger Shannon emailed me today to promote ‘Into The Light’, a celebration of Sir Michael Balcon. Michael Balcon was one of the great figures in British Film. He was Head of Ealing Studios in its heyday, aco-founder of BAFTA and a key figure in launching careers as diverse as those of Alfred Hitchcock, Diana Dors and David Puttnam. And he came from Birmingham.
