I watched the final episode of the Peaky Blinders at The Spotted Dog on Thursday, by invitation of the Digbeth Residents Association. They’re responsible for keeping that part of town as a kicking, exciting place to be. I spoke to a few of their members afterwards and they were excited to hear about the 72, especially as we’ll be doing quite a bit of production predominantly on their patch. I’m not going to say too much here as it is early days, but the ambition for the 72 is to have a much larger presence than just the three days of filming itself. In the absence of a major festival, we’re working away on a possible month long, pop-up cinema/cafe where we open up our rehearsals and production meetings and culminates with our film being shown.
