That’s right – I like to keep this educational. This week I want to share a wonderful webpage by the BBC where I learned that snails have approximately 430 babies in a year. You can see the page here.
Then I noticed that the Latin name for a garden snail is helix aspersa, which inspired me to explore the helix shape on Wikipedia. How un-academic of me! Aspersa is obvious from the root aspersus meaning ‘speckled’.
I knew none of this before 18:24 this Wednesday and I only have the internet to thank.
