Nightshift (2004)

HISTORY:

I had sent this letter to Channel 4 in February 2003 with an idea. In those days The Slot, which became 3 Minute Wonder and then 4thought, was an opening for new filmmakers to get exposure. It’s changed in its remit now, which is a shame.

They got back in touch with me in April 2003 and said they were keen to make it, and then nothing happened until I got this frantic phone call in November 2003 asking if I could go to the Channel 4 headquarters immediately, which I did. Gabby Morton Jones and I were given 24 hours to write a more detailed proposal and find a production company who could house the production. We were given a transmission date of early January 2004.

We then had a month of frantic phone calls, filming dates and an edit with Gareth Spensley in Leeds before successfully submitting the following films for transmission in January 2004.
